IV. Procedures/Interventions: A.

Review of Covered Professional Activities Performed by Employed Practitioners. 1. Every request for an Employed Practitioner to engage in Covered Professional Activities must be approved by the applicable Medical Group, or the applicable Medical Group’s designee, in writing before the Employed Practitioner engages in the proposed Covered Professional Activity. 2. If the proposed Secondary/Additional Professional Activity will be provided to BMG, BMGC, another Medical Group or Banner by an Employed Practitioner employed by BMG or BMGC, the request will be reviewed by PAT; provided, however, that review by PAT will not be required if the Employed Practitioner will not receive any Secondary/Additional Compensation in connection with the performance of the proposed Secondary/Additional Professional Activity. 3. If the proposed Secondary/Additional Professional Activity will be provided to B— UMG, another Medical Group, Banner or the University of Arizona by an Employed Practitioner employed by B—UMG, the request will be reviewed by UPRT and/or the AMC; provided, however, that review by UPRT and/or the AMC will not be required if the Employed Practitioner will not receive any Secondary/Additional Compensation in connection with the performance of the proposed Secondary/Additional Professional Activity. 4. If the proposed Secondary/Additional Professional Activity will be provided to BUCS, another Medical Group or Banner by a Employed Practitioner employed by BUCS, the request will be reviewed by BUCS and the Physician Compensation Program Director, or his/her designee; provided, however, that review by BUCS and the Physician Compensation Program Director, or his/her designee, will not be required if the Employed Practitioner will not receive any Secondary/Additional Compensation in connection with the performance of the proposed Secondary/Additional Professional Activity. 5. If the proposed Covered Professional Activity will be provided to an Outside Entity, the request will be reviewed by SPAC or by a SPAC designee, as outlined in in Article IV, Section F. 6. Except as provided in Article IV, Section H, all decisions with respect to the review of Covered Professional Activities are final. B. Review of Secondary/Additional Professional Activities by PAT. 1. The review by PAT of a proposed Secondary/Additional Professional Activity to be provided to BMG, BMGC, another Medical Group or Banner will be initiated by sending a completed PAT Request Form and all requested supporting documentation to the email box designed by PAT or by such other mechanism as PAT may identify from time to time. 2. The Physician Compensation Program Director, or his/her designee, will review the PAT Request Form for completeness and may request additional information regarding the proposed Secondary/Additional Professional Activity. The Physician Compensation Program Director, or his/her designee, also will determine whether any additional approvals of the proposed compensation arrangement will be required. 3. Upon confirmation of completeness, the PAT Request Form and any additional information will be submitted to PAT for review. 4. In reviewing the proposed Secondary/Additional Professional Activity, PAT will consider the following factors: a. Whether the requested Secondary/Additional Professional Activity is already a part of the Employed Practitioner's Primary Activities.
